Hi, Greg!!

Chaz continues to grow by leaps and bounds. (My groomer is thinking he may eventually weigh in at about 80#???) This week he has been attending a K-9 to 5 obedience class. Because he was the only pup enrolled in this week's class, he was able to spend the entire day with the trainer, Bill, to work on basic commands. When I arrived at 3:00 to pick him up, I got a lesson and homework. As you may well imagine, he has done VERY well. Bill observed that Chaz is very motivated to please, but, then, we knew that when he was just a wee pup. After only two days, Chaz was able to stay "parked" on command when Bill left the room; he said that it's very unusual for a pup Chaz's age to be able to do that!

Here at home we're still dealing with occasional bouts of limit testing and rough play. We did manage to find a very happy home for our Puccini, and Chaz and Mick get along well enough. (I think Chaz gets on Mick's nerves now and again, but the two of them seem to prefer to be together than apart.) Chaz still looks like a big teddy bear and, like you said, gets loads of attention whenever we're out together. He's gotten barrel-chested and boxy; his build is definitely more golden than poodle. I had his face trimmed a bit because we were losing sight of his eyes, and he has a light mask that makes him look even cuter, if that's possible.

We're still working with the vet to remedy his loose stools. He was on Flagyl for several weeks (which seemed to help), and we've kept him on a low residue puppy food. Good thing he's been easy to housetrain. He makes a huge mess all over the kitchen whenever he drinks from his water bowl, so the floor is cleaner than it's ever been.

He's been a wonderful addition to our family, and I think he's making great progress toward becoming a therapy dog. I know I need to send you some new pictures, so I'll get to work on that. I hope you are well. I checked the puppy nursery on your website, and it looks like you're up to your elbows in pups! I'm so glad I picked the best one of them all!!

Thanks,
Melinda
